The Time Machine

Thomas has recently discovered a peaceful village hidden in the mountains. The villagers, who spend their days gardening and telling stories, have always lived without conflict. Their lives seem perfect, filled with laughter and simple pleasures. Thomas, having lived with them for a week, now understands their daily rhythm. They wake with the sun, tend to their gardens, and share meals together. Although their existence is comfortable, Thomas has started to notice something important. The villagers have never built a school or written a book. They do not discuss history or plan for the future. Living without challenges, they seem content but unchanged. Thomas remembers his own life, which has been difficult at times. He has learned many things because he faced problems. He has built skills and made inventions when things went wrong. The villagers, avoiding all hardship, have not grown in the same way. Their happiness is real, but their world is very small. Thomas believes that people need tests to become stronger. He will return home soon, taking this lesson with him. An easy life can be good, but it may not help us grow.
