The wide, dark river presented a formidable challenge, its currents swollen and treacherous. Knowing that time was critical, they launched their vessels into the choppy water. Each person aboard was silently hoping to reunite with loved ones on the distant bank. They escaped by boat across the wide dark river, desperately hoping to find real safety on the other side.
