There is / There are
어떤 것이 어디에 있는지 말할 때 사용 — 한국어의 "~이/가 있다"

There is → 뒤에 단수 명사 (a book, a cat)나 불가산 명사 (some water)가 올 때 사용합니다.

There are → 뒤에 복수 명사 (three pens, many students)가 올 때 사용합니다.

  • There is a book on the desk.책상 위에 책이 한 권 있다.
  • There are three pens in the bag.가방 안에 펜이 세 자루 있다.
