What is re-entry?
Re-entry means coming back into Earth's atmosphere. The spacecraft is moving very fast, so the crew must monitor the status carefully.
re-entry는 지구 대기권으로 다시 들어오는 것입니다. 우주선은 매우 빠르게 움직이므로 대원은 상태를 주의 깊게 확인해야 합니다.
Heat shield and atmosphere
The atmosphere is the air around Earth. During re-entry, the spacecraft can become very hot. A heat shield protects the spacecraft from heat.
atmosphere는 지구를 둘러싼 공기층입니다. 재진입 중 우주선은 매우 뜨거워질 수 있습니다. heat shield는 열로부터 우주선을 보호합니다.
Parachute and descent
Descent means moving downward. A parachute slows the spacecraft before landing. Deployed means opened or released for use.
descent는 아래로 내려오는 것입니다. parachute는 착륙 전 우주선의 속도를 줄입니다. deployed는 사용할 수 있도록 펼쳐졌다는 뜻입니다.
Landing status
Landing status tells Mission Control if the spacecraft is stable and safe. The crew reports if re-entry is stable, if the parachute is deployed, and if landing is normal.
landing status는 우주선이 안정적이고 안전한지 알려 줍니다. 대원은 재진입이 안정적인지, 낙하산이 펼쳐졌는지, 착륙 상태가 정상인지 보고합니다.
