오늘의 본문 READING

Life is full of moments that seem small and unimportant at the time. However, a single brief meeting can sometimes establish a new path for a person. A young boy named Liam, who was often quite shy, has always remembered one strange afternoon. He was walking home through the old churchyard, which was a shortcut he usually avoided. The gray stones and quiet shadows have always made him feel uneasy. Suddenly, a tall man in a dark coat stepped out from behind a large monument. The man, whose face was serious and tired, asked Liam for directions to the train station. Liam felt frightened, but he pointed the way with a shaking hand. The man simply nodded and walked away into the gathering dusk. That one brief encounter would quietly determine Liam's future interests. He became fascinated by stories of people who travel and face challenges. He started to investigate history and different cultures in his free time. Years later, Liam would become a researcher who studies ancient customs. He often thinks about how that one moment in the graveyard changed everything. The entire direction of his life was set by a few scared minutes long ago.
