The perpetuation of systemic inequality across multiple generations establishes a profound sense of grievance that fundamentally alters a society's trajectory. Although petitions and peaceful assemblies were initially organized, these efforts were routinely dismissed by an entrenched elite who controlled all significant political and economic institutions. This persistent dismissal contributed to a radicalization of public perspective, because the essential promise of justice appeared to be an impossible fantasy for ordinary citizens. Consequently, the normalization of suffering created a powder keg of social discontent, whereas the ruling class remained oblivious to the impending danger.
